Eating Boston: Mamaleh’s Delicatessen

M3.jpg

If you haven’t already noticed, I have a serious soft spot for Jewish deli’s. If they are serving bagels, smoked fish and Jewish pastries, you can guarantee I will have a good time and Mamaleh’s Delicatessen in Boston’s Kendall Square is no exception. Mamaleh’s is a non-negotiable stop for me every time I am in the Boston area. It is such a joyful and delicious spot and should definitely be on your list.

Mamaleh’s is the fresh take on a Jewish deli that you didn’t know you needed in your life. The space is bright and retro with an amazing retro bar in the middle of the room and when you walk in there is a little gift shop selling kitschy gifts and to go shmears in the front by the door.

On the menu, you can expect all your favorite; smoked fish platters (kippered salmon, lox, sable, whitefish), bagel sandwiches, scrambles, baked goods (babka, rugelach, black and white cookies), and other great goodies (blintzes, latkes, pastrami bacon and knishes). They even serve egg creams (chocolate milk and seltzer water) and amazing milkshakes!

The service is amazing, the environment is great and the food is out of the world, why wouldn’t you want to go?!
