A Bachelorette Party in Cabo

I just got back from a Bachelorette in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to celebrate one of my oldest friends! I bookended my trip with LA on both ends because (1) my sister lives there and (2) it made my trip a lot easier. If you are planning a Cabo bachelorette party, I hope this gievs some inspo and if you are just looking for some fun LA eats, this also has you covered!!

Wednesday:

I landed at LAX at about 11:45 am an immediately went to my sister’s in Sant Monica. Since I was starving, I walked over to the very famous, Bay Cities Deli for some sandwiches and snacks. Bay Cities is a little slice of heaven if you love food- it has an incredible hot food section, fresh bread and every single type of Italian good you can think of - olive oil, wine, dips, cookies, cheese, meats, etc.

We ordered two sandwiches to split and we got the caprese sandwich with prosciutto and pistachio mortadella sandwich with the works. I also picked up two types of pasta salads (pesto and spicy eggplant) and a three-bean salad. Everything was incredible and I could legitimately spend 7 hours just walking around in there.

After lunch, my sister had to finish up some work, so I walked from her apartment to the Pacific Ocean and back. Not a cloud in the sky!!

After work, we had a delicious dinner at Night+Market Sahm in Venice and it was amazing. I have been dying to try Nigh+Market ever since one of my friends gave me their cookbook for my birthday one year and it did not disappoint!

We ordered the peek gai hey-ha (party chicken wings), panang neua (beef short rib braised in coconut curry), garlic green beans, and the pad see ew gai with chicken. Everything was so delicious and I can’t wait to go back and try new things!

Thursday:

Thursday I woke up and walked over to Café de Mundo for a cup of coffee. Truthfully, I chose Café de Mundo because it was the only coffee shop open before 9 am and I needed coffee stat. I got a delicious vanilla flat white and the staff was super nice. We even went back on Monday morning after we got back from Cabo!

After running a few errands before our trip and packing, we got lunch at Din Tai Fung, since my sister was shocked I had never had it before. It was such a fun and yummy experience, I can’t wait to go back! We ordered ~ so.much.food~ it was actually insane.

We ordered the classic cucumber salad, hot and sour soup with pork, string beans with garlic, shrimp and kurobuta pork pot stickers, kurobuta pork xiao long bao (soup dumplings), kimchi and kurobuta pork dumplings, kurobuta pork buns, shrimp and kurobuta pork spicy wontons, chicken fried noodles and finally the chocolate and mochi xiao long bao.

… for only two people.

Later in the day on Thursday, we flew to Cabo (after a few delays)!

Friday:

Friday, I woke up at the crack of dawn but I got to see the sunrise over the resort! We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach & Resort and it was perfect for a group our size. This is a massive, all-inclusive resort with over 40 buildings, many restaurant options, a few pools, beach access and fun golf cart shuttles to take you everywhere.

During our time at the resort, we ate at a few of the restaurants but went back to the buffet a few times.

Friday, our main activity was a boat party and it was so much fun. We took off from the Cabo Marina and spent about 4 hours on the boat (about 2 hours cruising and 2 hours in one spot to swim and hang out. There was a perfect combo of standing and lounging space on the boat and a some good shade. The staff was incredible and it included a captain, bar tender and a photographer. It was such a fun day!!

After our boat party, we were dropped back off at the Marina, grabbed a water taxi and headed over to the Cabo staple, Mango Deck for lunch and to party a bit more.

Friday night we freshened up and had dinner at the sushi spot at the resort!

Saturday:

Saturday was a pool day and we spent the entire day posted up at the pool after breakfast. We hung out, chatted and ordered lunch and drinks by the pool. The pool as great and they were playing music and had a bunch of opt-in activities like volleyball and water aerobics.

After our long pool day, we went back up to freshen up and got in our monochrome rainbow outfits for our night out. Since Pueblo Bonita is one of a few resorts that are connected across Cabo, you can actually use your all-inclusive pass at those properties as well. After our pictures we headed to Pueblo Bonito Rose Resort and Spa for dinner because it was closer to downtown.

After dinner a group went to El Squid Roe for a final night party!

Sunday:

Sunday we got up, hit the buffet for the final time and headed to the airport to go back to LA.

When we got home, we dropped our luggage, freshened up and then went over to Venice to walk Abbot Kinney. We stopped at Abbot’s Pizza Company for a few slices and some spicy ranch. We split the curry chicken pizza and a meat lovers slice. We walked Abbot Kinney, did a bit of shopping and then went back home.

Heading home, we went to walk Santa Monica’s 3rd Street promenade and then headed to Sawtelle to check out the Japan Town. We decided on Kura Sushi which is conveyer belt sushi and since there was a long wait, we walked Sawtelle, grabbed some groceries. I was SUPER impressed by Kura sushi- was it the best sushi I have ever had? No! But was it delicious and fresh for conveyer belt sushi, yes!! It was such a fun experience and for how much we ate, it was a great deal!

That wraps up my LA/Cabo trip and Monday, after a quick trip to Erewhon Marketfor some plane food, I flew back to DC!
