Sour Cream Marble Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup of white sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups (3 bars) of unsalted butter; room temperature

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • 2 tbsp of vanilla extract

  • 3/4 tsp of baking powder

  • 4 eggs + 2 egg yolks

  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp of sour cream

  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp of AP flour AND 1/2 cup of AP flour (seperated)

  • 1/3 cup of cocoa powder

Preheat your oven to 350F and grease a bundt pan.

In a stand mixer (or with a hand mixer), cream together your sugar, eggs, salt, vanilla and baking powder. Whisk until well combined, light and fluffy.

Add in your eggs and egg yolks one at a time and mix until fully incorporated.

Whisk in your sour cream and mix well.

Split the batter into two bowls. In one bowl add the 1 cup + 2 tbsp of flour (and adjust the flavor as needed with more vanilla). In the other bowl, add the 1/2 cup of flour and 1/3 cup of cocoa powder and mix well.

Pour the batter, alternating between the normal and chocolate batter into your bundt cake mold.

Bake for about 50 - 60 minutes or until your toothpick comes out clean.

Enjoy with ice cream for dessert or a cup of coffee for breakfast!
