4th of July Week in Cape Cod

We just got back from spending a week in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and here is everything we ate!!

Hole in One: Hole in One is a great spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch. They have soooo much on their menu from baked goods (fresh muffins and homemade donuts) to classic breakfasts, to tuna melts and breakfast burritos. There is something here for everyone! I would also highly recommend their iced mocha latte because it is such a treat and made with chocolate milk.

Sunbird Provisions: (Not pictured). Sunbird had the best coffee I tried on the Cape in my short time there. I loved the iced latte with simple syrups and we tried a few of their baked goods (almond croissant, raspberry corn muffin and the chocolate chip cookie) and they were all delicious. We also had their bird breakfast sandwich and it was amazing. I would have loved to try their breakfast tacos and kimcheese breakfast sandwich.

Cottage Street Bakery: (Not pictured). Cottage St. Bakery is a great quick option for breakfast if you are looking for mostly baked goods (muffins, etc.) but they also had a nice and customizable breakfast sandwich. They don’t offer a lot in terms of coffee but if you are an iced or drip coffee gal, you will be happy!

Lobster Shanty: Lobster Shanty is a great spot for a very casual and quick dinner. I would only really go for the lobster rolls and maybe a beer, as their apps didn’t blow me away but their lobster roll was nice! I would recommend this if you need something quick or perhaps stop by for lunch.

Cooke’s Seafood: Cooke’s has a large menu with a lot of options for everyone! I thought the lobster roll was nice but the clam strips really stole the show. I would recommend taking this to go or eating outside as it was a bit hectic inside but pretty decent food. They also had some really great looking ice cream sandwiches that we didn’t get to try but would definitely get them next time.

Casa Del Cabo: We actually went to Casa Del Cabo twice during our week long trip; once for happy hour (which I preferred) and once for dinner. Happy hour was great with super cheap and delicious oysters and other seafood options. They also had some happy hour specials, like mini tacos and chicken wings. For dinner, they have a lot of great options and their tacos were nice but not mind blowing (too much stuff on the tacos, for my liking). The highlight of Casa Del Cabo for me is their cocktails which are really well done and unique.

Caroline’s Cape Cod Bar & Grill: Caroline’s was probably my favorite meal of the trip and I would absolutely put it on your list if you are heading to Cape Cod any time soon. The cocktails were fun and creative and all the food we had was really great. My husband said this was easily the best lobster roll of the trip and my Portuguese Stew was a great way to get all my favorite seafood options in one bowl.

JoMama’s: I really loved my sandwich from JoMamma’s (tuna sandwich, wheat, lettuce and tomato) and was pushing to go back for lunch most days. This is the perfect spot to pick up a quick lunch for the beach or before heading out on a boat, as there is no where to sit. I didn’t get to try them but their bagels also looked great!

Land Ho: We went to Land Ho for lunch one day and it did not disappoint. It is a classic/local Cape Cod joint that serves up unpretentious classic options. My husband and I opted for their club sandwiches that came with fries and we loved both the turkey and tuna club. These were also some of the best fries we had the whole trip. I would definitely make this a lunch-time stop during your week!

Mac’s on the Pier: Mac’s was one of my other favorite meals we had during our week. We all got warm lobster rolls with corn, fries and clam strips but there were so many other things on the menu I wanted to try (burritos, quesadillas, fried oyster and shrimp sandwiches). This is a no-fuss place where you walk up and order at a window and scout out a table but it is located right on the water and is BYOB. They also had a great ice cream stand to grab something sweet right after your meal. If you want something a bit more formal, there is also Mac’s Shack which is more of a sit-down restaurant. (Definitely on our list for next time).

Sam’s Deli: We picked up sandwiches from Sam’s before our boat day and the sandos were so good. I would definitely recommend this spot for a casual sandwich pick-up for a beach or boat day and would really recommend to place your order in advance. I would absolutely order from Sam’s again.

Sesuit Harbor Cafe: I only got to try breakfast from the Sesuit Harbor Cafe but it was such a beautiful drive to get there and located right on the water that I was dying to go back for lunch. Their breakfast options are standard and tasty but would love to return to try their lobster rolls and other seafood options. This should definitely be on your Cape itinerary but just a note that it is cash only!

Van Rensselaer’s Restaurant and Raw Bar: Van Rensselaer’s was fine but definitely did not blow me away. Their appetizer options were pretty all over the place (e.g. flatbreads, pork slides, pot stickers and seafood) but I did enjoy the clams casino. My entre dish was fine and perhaps in the future the fish/raw seafood options are the way to go here. I did love their homemade desserts and the bug pie was a stand out for me.
