Turkey Burgers

TB 1.jpg

Ground turkey is something that we buy pretty much every time we go grocery shopping. We use ground turkey in a lot of our regularly-rotated weeknight recipes but turkey burgers remain one of our favorites!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of ground turkey

  • 1 small onion; diced

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs (either regular breadcrumbs or panko)

  • 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp of garlic powder

  • salt & pepper

In a bowl, mix all the ingredients of the turkey burgers together. I either use my hands or a fork to make sure all the ingredients are really well incorporated. *You especially want to make sure all the egg is mixed in well.

He a medium sized pan, heat some oil (or Pam). Build your burgers depending on how large or small your buns are. If you are doing sliders, or using Hawaiian roles, you are going to want to make your buns smaller. The burger mixture will be soft and sticky so your patties will not be perfectly formed. Do the best you can in your hand, and continue to mold the patty shape when you place it into the pan.

Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through.

Optional: We like to make our turkey burgers with cheese, so if you want to have turkey cheese burgers, just place a piece of cheese on your patties after they are cooked and cover the pan with a lid until the cheese is fully melted.

Build your burger however you like! I like mine with lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo and grainy mustard!
